Years of Los Angeles remodels, written down
The Home Remodel Group remodels homes across Los Angeles County: kitchens, bathrooms, room additions, ADUs, garage conversions and whole houses. We've been doing this for years, and this site is where we share what that work has taught us.
Who we are
The Home Remodel Group does the projects that make a house work better for the people living in it, from a single bathroom to additions, ADUs and full renovations. HRG Prefab, our prefab division, builds ADUs and additions from prefabricated materials made off-site.
Los Angeles is full of older homes, with plaster walls, original wiring, galvanized plumbing, hillside lots and more than one building department to deal with. That's why we care so much about planning. The surprises in an older house are easier to handle when you expect them.
Why we wrote these guides
Homeowners ask us the same good questions on almost every job. What will this really cost? Do I need a permit? How long will we be without a kitchen? How do I know a contractor is legitimate? The answers shouldn't depend on who you happen to call first, so we put them here for anyone planning a project, whether or not you hire us.
A written scope, every time
Every price we give is built on a written scope that says what is and isn't included, so you can compare it with anyone else's.
Honest timelines
We quote realistic schedules, including permits and material lead times, and tell you early if something on site changes the plan.
Permits and inspections handled
We plan the permit path at the start and schedule inspections as the work moves, so the job closes out properly.
One point of contact
From the first visit to the final walkthrough, you know who to call.
